Licensed Art Therapist in Brooklyn Specializing in Trauma-Informed Care for Adults
About Anna Stewart, LCAT
I’m Anna Stewart, a licensed art therapist (LCAT) supporting women of color, young professionals, and other sensitive, high-achieving adults navigating anxiety, stress, and identity-based challenges. My work integrates art therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic frameworks, and trauma-informed care to help clients feel more grounded, resilient, and emotionally clear. Some areas of mental health research that informs my practice include trauma-informed therapy, IFS (Internal Family Systems), psychedelic assisted therapy, culturally responsive therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), yoga & art therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, and the neuroscience of somatic psychology.
My Approach
My style is warm, culturally aware, and collaborative. I believe therapy should honor your lived experience while offering structured support for real, sustainable change. Whether through creative expression or traditional talk therapy, I help clients understand patterns, regulate their nervous system, and strengthen their relationship with themselves.
Why I Do This Work
I’m passionate about the mind–body connection and how creativity can unlock healing, especially for those carrying generational, identity-based, or professional stress. My goal is to offer a supportive space where you can explore who you are, what you need, and what’s possible when you feel safe and connected to yourself.
How We Can Work Together
Sessions are held virtually for clients anywhere in New York. Together, we’ll create a pace and process that feels respectful, empowering, and attuned to your goals.
